WOMEN have been asked not to attend the 'Reclaim The Streets' vigil on Saturday.
The idea of the socially-distanced protest, originally planned for Bonn Square, was to show that Oxford should be a safe place for all women at any time of the day.
Councillor Shaista Aziz said it was organised after an 'outpouring of grief' when Sarah Everard went missing walking home in London last week.
She said it was 'devastating' to see violence against women when International Women's Day was celebrated on Monday and Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday.
The event has now been moved to Zoom in light of lockdown restrictions and to make it more accessible for women across the city to get to.
Those planning on attending in person have been asked not to go.
More details for the Zoom meeting will be shared before the event.
