EMERGENCY services were called to a block of flats in Oxford after strong gusts of winds caused severe damage to its roof.

A shocking photo shared by members of the public shows the state of the roof of the building by Green Road roundabout in Headington.
The damage came after strong winds battered the county, with residents of the top floor flats now rehoused in hotels.

The fire service and city council officer arrived at the scene of the incident at around 10am.
This comes after the Met Office issued a yellow wind warning for the county and the rest of England.
