The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s televised interview with Oprah Winfrey unleashed a dramatic set of bombshell revelations.
In the interview, which more than 11 million people in the UK watched on Monday night, Meghan revealed she had suicidal thoughts and accused the royal family of being racist, while Prince Harry revealed the extent of his fractured relationship with his father, the Prince of Wales.

We asked you what you thought about the couple's claims and whether the monarchy is still fit for purpose. This is what you said:
Janet Bird: "It's the firm not the royal family. They are all told what to do and how to act etc. Diana had the same thing. And as for this interview. It's the media, paparazzi, USA etc that have taken it to extreme levels.
"I support the royal family but have sympathy for them all too. And I wish Harry and Meghan a long and happy life together."
Veronica Eite Kavanagh: "They are a horrible institution not in touch with the real world like birds in a guilded cage get rid of them."
Viviane Domela Sharp: "Meghan was just after the glamour, she had no idea what living within the firm meant. So now they are free, time for them to be quiet."
Luke Faulkner: "I do believe in our monarchy, I just wish the Queen and Charles would of stood up for Harry against the tabloids who have no boundaries. They thrive on lies and hatred and yes, I believe the monarchy is still in a different time. It needs a more up to date model and view on life.

"I don’t even think the decisions made come from our lovely Queen. I think there’s more behind the scenes decisions than we could know about.
"I’m team Harry though."
Skylar Rose Kennedy: "Didn’t even watch the royal family. Doesn’t interest me, they don’t live life the way us folk have, so are way out of touch with our everyday reality which is why I couldn’t care less."
Jim Reilly: "I will not give air space to this couple. The British people took Harry to their hearts after his mother's tragic death. They also took Meghan to their hearts when she married Harry.
"She should have thought through what being a member of the royal family would mean before rushing off to a fairytale wedding. Having just watched the one o'clock news I am lost for words as to why Meghan would point the racist finger at the Royals.
"This has surely finished them."

David FJ Pollard: "Meghan is an actress, and she is being the actress here. I'm also deeply upset and angry how this could upset Her Majesty The Queen. At the end of the day it's all about money and Meghan was accepted and we were all pleased for Harry.
"I felt too that the public were very sympathetic to her indeed, but it is now apparent she didn't really want to be part of the British royal family, she just wanted to change it."
Len Boorman: "This is not the way to behave in public and the only thing it achieves is salacious publicity. It does nothing at all to explain the situation. Resolving needs private family open discussions. If this cannot be achieved then shut up, explain nothing and get on with life."
Elizabeth Simmer: "Amazing amount of negativity toward these two people. Leave them be."
Amanda Taylor: "The most disrespectful thing that I’ve heard for a long time. Stop giving them airtime. They want to lead a private life let them."
Mark Jones: "The accusations have to be opened up and whoever has meant to have made these remarks must be held accountable."
Tiffany Alexa Kent: "Finally people are speaking out, it only took them until 2021."
Ankan Naik: "Was she not aware of the protocols she had to follow before being a part of the royal family? First you get there, have a fairy tale wedding, enjoy all the attention, and then cry later saying you’re feeling constrained in that environment and want freedom.
"Wow. She is nothing but a disgrace to the royal family. Kate is far far better than her."
