A LITTLE Dachshund puppy was stolen from a car in broad daylight.
Milo's owner thought he had locked the car but when he returned 10 minutes later the four-and-a-half-month-old dog had been taken.
Now, police are urging anybody who was in Chipping Norton High Street at around lunchtime on Wednesday to check dash-cam footage.
Dio Davies said her husband had parked outside of Barclays bank at around 12.35pm.
She explained: "It wasn't a dodgey car park, there is a lot of footfall in that area. We are gathering all the CCTV, we are on a mission."
Dog posters have been shared on social media and on dog buying websites.
The puppy, which is mircochipped, has distinctive features like a little mole under his chin and two light patches on the back of his legs.
A £1,000 reward has been offered for his safe return.
Investigating officer PC Rachel Lundregan, based at Witney police station, said: “We are working hard to find out who is responsible for this theft including analysing all relevant CCTV and tracing any possible witnesses.
“This incident has left the puppy’s owners completely bereft and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything in the High Street on Wednesday lunchtime to come forward. For those who have dashcams, please check them in case you inadvertently captured something that could help our investigation.
“Similarly anyone who believes they may know of the dog’s current whereabouts should contact us immediately.”
