POLICE were taking to the streets of Oxford today to warn of the dangers of leaving valuables inside cars.
Officers will be in Broad Street and Worcester Street car park with dummy cars which will have their windows smashed to highlight just how quickly a thief can steal shopping and Christmas presents left on display.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "This demonstration comes as a warning to the public ahead of one of the busiest shopping weekends of the years."
