Oxfordshire kick-started their challenge in the ESFA Premier League Under 16 Inter-County Trophy with a 2-0 win over Hampshire at Milton United.
Oxon, beaten 3-2 by Berkshire in their opener, dominated the first half and could have been more than two goals ahead.
They took the lead after ten minutes when James Dobson's free-kick was blocked by the wall, but he floated the rebound to the far post where Ross Gray scored.
Oxon went further ahead five minutes later, Rob Hoskin netting from close range.
Hoskin was denied a second by an offside flag, and Luke Carnell saw his header brilliantly saved by the Hampshire keeper.
The visitors came more into the game in the second half, but with Craig Duncan outstanding in defence, an excellent save from keeper Jack Goode, Oxon kept a clean sheet.
Oxon now visit Dorset in the new year, a match which is likely to decide which of the two qualify for the knockout stages.
