Sir - The celebrated historian Professor John Blair of The Queen's College, unfortunately muddles history - the Victoria County History - with old ruins - the Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
We should welcome the county council's proposed intervention.
They should both be shut at once and combined to form a historical venue.
The VCH staff might manage to welcome visitors arriving by helicopter (like the Duke's at Blenheim) for courses on 'How to lean over fences looking at cows, sheep etc', arranged by the county or the University of the Third Age.
