A spokesperson for Oxford University Hospitals said: “They have helped in clinical functions as well as with more general logistical and administrative work such as stock management.
“In addition, they have helped our teams get patients home as soon as they are well enough as this frees up beds for the most seriously ill patients.
“The number of military personnel, their roles, and how long they will be based at the trust is under constant review.”
Since the end of January, hundreds of defence medics have been deployed in NHS hospitals across the UK to work in intensive care units and other patient facing roles, to help relieve pressure on the NHS.
