News of more rioting at Campsfield House immigration detection centre at Kidlington will come as no surprise to anyone.
After the last serious outbreak of violence in August, we posed a series of questions: Are too many people being housed there? Is the mix right - are there too many internal rivalries?
Is the process of dealing with asylum applications too slow?
Are conditions below standard? Are the private security firms in charge up to the job?
Or is there a better way of handling asylum seekers?
We said then that these were just some of the questions which need answering - and we still await answers.
In fact, it appears that little has been done to address the problems that led to earlier disturbances.
In the past, the Home Office has blamed turmoil at Campsfield on overcrowding, poor physical conditions and problems in handling casework.
If that is still the case, why doesn't it do something about it?
The Home Office cannot claim to have had no warning.
A review, commissioned by the Home Office and published during the summer, highlighted serious weaknesses at immigration removal centres and warned that trouble could erupt again.
How true that has proved to be.
It is time Home Secretary Jacqui Smith took charge and got her act together.
