SECONDARY school pupils will be required to wear masks in the classroom when they return to school on March 8, reports have said.
This means older pupils in secondary school will need to wear face coverings whilst sat at their desks having lessons, as well as the classroom.
The news was broke by ITV news this lunchtime.
Before schools closed in January, it was up to headteachers to decide whether children needed to wear masks in schools - but now it will be compulsory.
The Prime Minister will be making his announcement on his 'roadmap out of lockdown' tonight at 7pm.
Mr Johnson is due to tell MPs at 3.30pm that all pupils in England will be going back to school on March 8.
It has been said in a leaked report that outdoor after-school sports and activities will be able to restart again.
