A SCHOOL minibus appeal has hit its £10,000 target - and the children at Charlton primary school, Wantage, should be benefiting from it early in 2008.
Jackie Melotti, chairman of the Parent Teacher Association said: "We've been really impressed by the generosity of people helping us out both as organisations and individuals.
"People have been incredibly kind and supportive."
Headteacher Jenny de la Coze said: "We're so pleased - it will lead to better opportunities for the children.
"In the end we exceeded our target which will mean we will be able to buy a newer vehicle which will last that little bit longer."
It will be used by the children for travelling on field trips and on other school visits.
At the end of the appeal donations from Loyd Lindsey Freemasons' Lodge, Wantage Lacemakers and a school sponsored walk added £2,900.
