POLICE have warned of a new 'Amazon Prime' scam.

Fraudsters have been calling people out of the blue claiming they owe £79 for a subscription.

One resident was phoned three times in two days and a pre-recorded message told her to press 1 on the keypad if she wanted to cancel the subscription.

In an online alert, the force has now warned others that this is a scam and urged people to hang up instead.

"The telephone number was 0016477496008.

"I know we have had many of these calls and they seem to be circulating again."
