Warneford Meadow at Headington, Oxford, should never have been considered as a site for a student village, Meadow safe (Oxford Mail, December 7).
The meadow is a place of beauty and has been there for centuries.
We, the Churchill Community Tenants and Residents' Association, have always opposed such an application.
At last, people are taking places of conservation into consideration, not letting others try to do just as they wish. People power is finally being recognised.
We, with the people behind us, fought very hard to stop this plan going through.
It has taken years to get the school crossing signs in place in Titup Hall Drive, warning that there are schools at Wood Farm. At last, we have them.
The county council has turned us down again for traffic lights at the junction of The Slade and Wood Farm Road. We will not give in - we will fight with the community to get them. It's a rat run and the council knows it.
At the north-east area committee meeting, we were told that the bus company wanted the humps removed from Titup Hall Drive as they damaged the back axles.
Never mind the children and the rest of the community - it's what the bus company wishes.
Does this mean that Titup Hall Drive will have the humps removed? Instead of looking after the back axles of buses, the council should divert money for the traffic lights that Wood Farm needs.
