A VISITOR to a Covid vaccination centre was left shaken after a huge gust of wind blew a gazebo directly into his car and smashed his windscreen.
Passers-by looked on in shock as the drama unfolded outside the hub at Clifton Hamden Village Hall, which was set up by Long Furlong Surgery in Abingdon.
Videos from the scene of the incident showed the aftermath of the gazebo crashing onto the bonnet and into the windscreen of the car of a healthcare worker who was on his way to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
The driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed that it smashed both sides of his windscreen.
He added: “I had glass all over my clothes and interior.

“It then rolled over my car, hit another car just missing an elderly gentleman walking in for his vaccination, and blew to the entrance of the carpark, off the main street.
“If my car had not have blocked the gazebos path, I would hate to think what the headlines would have read.”
'Unfortunate accident'
Since the incident, which took place on January 14, the driver revealed he has been chasing the surgery for insurance details in order to pay to repair his car, but said that he struggled to get a response.
Dr Trivedi, clinical director for Abingdon and District Primary Care Network, commented on what happened: “This was an unfortunate accident and we regret the distress caused at the time, the damage to the car and the subsequent delay in providing all the insurance information requested.
“This has now been rectified so that the claim can be resolved as quickly as possible.”
