A CARE home in South Oxfordshire that was blasted as ‘inadequate’ over its Covid-19 safety systems has recorded a third death in only two weeks.
The news comes days after the Oxford Mail reported that health inspectors found people at the John Masefield House in Burcot, near Abingdon, were not being protected from Covid-19 risks – only one of many problems.

The facility for 22 adults with physical disabilities confirmed that three people have died after testing positive and that a number of staff and residents have also contracted the virus.
A spokesperson from Valorum Care Group, which manages the John Masefield House, commented: “Sadly, a resident has passed away and our thoughts are with their family as they come to terms with their loss.
“We are continuing to support each other, our staff, our residents and all the families during this extremely difficult time.”
