With coronavirus putting holidays on hold many of us are looking at staying a little closer to home this summer for our post-lockdown break.
What better way to enjoy the English countryside than staying in a warm cabin?
Here is a selection of wonderful wooden works of art that you’ll be sure to log for future reference.
The Chilterns View – Settle yourself in at one of these luxurious Oxfordshire cabins and take in the views and the sunset over the rolling Chiltern Hills. Unwind in the privacy and seclusion of your lodge - indulge in a glass of fizz on the terrace, kick back in your hammock or relax in your cabin’s private hot tub. Situated only one hour from London by train, this glamping spot is perfect for city folk wanting to escape the humdrum in exchange for relaxation and countryside inspiration.
Slades Farm Glamping - Located in the Wiltshire village of Edington, these beautiful glamping pods are fitted with underfloor heating, en-suite showers and their own kitchens and look out on to gorgeous countryside. Choose the Chicken Hut, Shepherds Hut or one of three airy glamping pods insulated with wool from the Slade Farm sheep. With a large choice of local and fresh foods for breakfast, this countryside location is ideal for a romantic getaway.
New Forest Lodges – This wonderful cluster of cabin properties offer the perfect formula for a countryside getaway. Overlooking a series of well-stocked fishing lakes, each lodge has its own kitchen/lounge area with log burner, a veranda, and hot tub; the ultimate way to relax, unwind and soak up the glorious natural surroundings on the edge of the New Forest National Park.
Water Meadow Lodges – Serenity in Somerset seems the most fitting way to describe these lakeside lodges and retreats. Kingfisher, Heron and Wilow lodges are fully equipped for a comfortable stay and boast their own hot tubs and verandas; Bluebell and Foxglove offer a romantic break with complimentary bottle of fizz, bathrobes and slippers, hot tubs and the starry Somerset sky.
Rossendale Holiday Lodges – Previously shortlisted for online hotel booking company eviivo’s Sweetest Homestay Award, this is a lovely Lancashire retreat. With glamping pods that offer luxury and warmth whilst still preserving the authentic outdoor living experience, you can relax around the fire pit, enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook, and meet Sylvester the resident cat!
Newlands Lodge – Set in the heart of Northumberland, these bespoke lodges deep within a 300-acre family estate guarantee peace and tranquillity for your special getaway. The signature Cedar Lodge is complete with a hot tub and a fully fitted kitchen, and two bathrooms featuring an amazing rainfall shower. With advice from welcoming hosts on fabulous walking trails, you’re sure to get the best views for miles around.
