WITNEY MP Robert Courts has announced a scheme to provide financial support for airports will open this month.
Mr Courts, the Aviation Minister, tweeted last night to announce further details of the Airport and Ground Operations Support Scheme.
Closing our travel corridors will help prevent the spread of new COVID variants in the UK. I know the impact this will have on the aviation sector, so to help limit this I am announcing our scheme to provide support to airports and ground operations will open this month. 1/2

Travel corridors were scrapped earlier this week, meaning arrivals into the country must self-isolate for 10 days, or receive a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken at least five days after entering the country.
People will also have to show proof of a negative test taken in the 72 hours prior to travelling.

The change of rules are designed to stop new strains of coronavirus entering the country.
The rules come into effect from 4am tomorrow.
The support scheme was first announced in November, but without a set start date.
Grants of up to £8 million will be available.
