ANOTHER five Covid deaths have been announced at Oxfordshire’s hospitals as admissions climb.
The deaths took place at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), which runs the John Radcliffe, the Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Banbury’s Horton General Hospital.
One of the deaths took place on Tuesday and the other four patients died on Wednesday.
There have been more than a dozen deaths at the trust of people who have tested positive for Covid 19 this week alone.
The total official coronavirus death toll at the trust since the start of the pandemic is now 310.

The latest available hospital trust-level figures show, as of Wednesday, January 12, OUH was treating 275 Covid-positive patients, with 35 in serious enough condition to need to be on ventilation.
This is up from 275 the week before and 185 a fortnight ago.
Last week 29 people were on ventilation and two weeks ago 21.
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the county's community hospitals, has also recorded new Covid deaths for the first time in months.

Globally, there have been nearly 93 million confirmed Covid cases, as well as more than 1.9 million deaths.
The US continues to have recorded the highest number of cases and fatalities.
According to Johns Hopkins University, which has been monitoring the pandemic for a year via an online dashboard, the UK currently ranks fifth in the world for both cases and deaths.
