ENVIRONMENT officers have launched an investigation over a ‘disgraceful’ pile of waste containing asbestos.
Vale of White Horse District Council revealed its officers are on the hunt for the person behind the fly-tip that was found at Dragon Hill Road, near the historic White Horse Hill at Uffington.

The local authority is now appealing for the public’s help to trace the careless rule-breaker, who drove to the picturesque site in the middle of the third national lockdown to throw away the heap of rubbish.
The council confirmed that its environment officers were notified of the pile of asbestos on Thursday last week.
Anyone with information about who may be responsible is asked to call the Vale officers on 01235 422146.
