What's the betting that cancer victim Stephen Dallison wouldn't have got the drug he so badly needs if he - and others - hadn't kicked up a fuss?
We share in his delight and relief that he has won his battle with Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust.
We hope he now has a chance of living a little longer.
The PCT comes out of this affair with no credit whatsoever.
It said at first that there was insufficient clinical evidence to justify giving him the drug. Now, after advice from an unnamed expert, it has changed its mind.
What a way to treat a dying patient.
Mr Dallison, given 12-18 months to live, has suffered enough stress without members of the PCT adding to it.
We hope they will learn their lesson and put patients first, not their balance sheet.
