POLICE this afternoon renewed an appeal for witnesses after thieves stole items worth about £20,000 from Woolworths in Bicester.
Burglars broke in at the rear of the building sometime between 6pm Sunday and 7.40am Monday, and stole a number of X-Box games consoles, computer games, DVDs and CDs.
Det Con Keith Hutchinson, of Cherwell burglary team, said: "As well as stealing these items, the thieves caused a lot of damage to the store, which means the branch had to close for a couple of days whilst repairs are carried out.
"This disruption, on top of the cost of the stolen items, has cost the store tens of thousands of pounds; and it's also inconvenienced its many customers.
"Did you see anything suspicious in Sheep Street on Sunday evening or Monday morning? If you did, then please get in touch."
Det Con Hutchinson can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
