OXFORDSHIRE has been warned that snow is expected later on today.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the county as snow and ice are forecast.
The warning will be in place from 5pm tonight until midnight on Friday.
Here is the weather forecast:
Today: Cold with freezing fog patches locally slow to clear, particularly in western parts. Dry with light winds and plenty of afternoon sunshine, but a chance of fog patches developing around dusk. Maximum temperature of 3 °C.
Tonight: Another cold night with clear skies and light winds but a widespread frost and a few freezing fog patches, particularly in western parts. Minimum temperature -5 °C.
Friday: Sunny and dry but cold with a few freezing fog patches at first, perhaps slow to clear in places. Cloudier in the afternoon, along with decent spells of sunshine. Maximum temperature of 4 °C.
The Met Office has warned to expect:
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
- Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
