ABINGDON'S refurbished Market Place will be lit up tomorrow night with a son et lumiere display and entertainment show as part of the grand finale of Oxfordshire's 1000th birthday celebrations.
There will be a giant puppet show that will recreate 1,000 years of local history in an event created by Pyro-Theatrix with the help of students from Abingdon and Witney College.
Two children travel back in time to meet characters from Abingdon's past in what the organisers call a "fun and horrible history show full of surprises for the family."
The event has been produced by the theatre company in association with Oxford Inspires, Abingdon and Witney College and Abingdon Town Council. The show starts at 6.30pm.
