OXFORD has one of the youngest populations in the country, official figures have disclosed.
The oldest area in the country, Christchurch in Dorset, has 30 per cent elderly people, but Oxford has just 11 per cent.
Outside London, only Slough and Milton Keynes have such a small proportion of pensioners.
In Oxfordshire, West Oxfordshire has the highest proportion of elderly residents, with 17 per cent. South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse both have 16 per cent and Cherwell is on 14 per cent.
