THIEVES escaped with goods worth £4,500 after breaking into an Oxfordshire chemist today.
The raid happened at Moss Chemist in Market Place, Faringdon at about 1.25am.
Police said a red vehicle, which could have been a Rover or a Honda, pulled up and stopped outside the chemist.
Three people were seen to get out of the car and force their way into the shop. They loaded goods from the shop into large containers before leaving in the direction of Witney.
Sgt Steve Ilott said: "The thieves were wearing dark clothing and one of them was wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet. They managed to escape with a selection of perfumes, ladies cosmetics and electrical goods which are estimated to be worth around £4,500.
"I would like to encourage anyone who may have seen this car or have any information about the incident to contact the police. I would also like to remind people that at this time of year, with Christmas just around the corner, to be aware of stolen goods and to report any suspicious activity to the police."
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Sgt Steve Ilott at Wantage police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don't want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
