I read the article about Abingdon boxers and their coach Robert Southey trying to get support, donations and materials for their new headquarters (Oxford Mail, November 24).
It is heartwarming to see a member of the community trying to get support for local children in these times when they seem to get forgotten and just left to their own devices.
That can be the road to disaster.
I have spoken to Mr Southey and he pointed out that this building will be for all the community to use for sport and other functions. What a great gift for the children and adults of this community.
A few kind companies have come forward and offered help, but he will need a lot more before the committee can get this project off the ground. Planning permission has been passed, the land has been obtained and all they need now is the backing.
I wish Mr Southey and all the committee success with this venture and will be showing my commitment with my wallet.
Can you help? If so, please call 01235 525492.
