A TOTAL of 29 flood alerts have been put in place across Oxfordshire today after heavy rain.
Drivers are being told to take ‘extra care’ and avoid flooded roads so they don’t get ‘stranded’.
On Wednesday, residents on Rutten Lane and Cassington Road in Yarnton were 'underwater following a massive downpour'.

A video of a flooded Bridge Street was shared on the Facebook page Spotted Witney last night.
Emergency services closed the road with cones and firefighters could be seen working near a lamp post.
Derek Bridges wrote: “A lot worse now I’m told.”
Others said that Woodford Mill had been flooded too.
The Environment Agency has issued eight flood warnings for:
- River Cherwell in Oxford
- River Cherwell from below Banbury to just above Upper Heyford
- River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to Cherwell Bridge
- River Evenlode at Eynsham Mill down to and including Cassington Mill near Cassington River Ray for Islip
- River Ray for Islip
- River Ray from the Health Bridge area to and including the Otmoor Basin
- River Thames and tributaries at Wolvercote in Oxford
- River Windrush at Witney and Ducklington
The Environment Agency has also issued 21 flood alerts:
- Langford and Wendlebury Brooks from Stratton Audley down to near Merton
- Middle Avon Rugby to Bidford
- River Cherwell from Charwelton to just above Upper Heyford
- River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to and including Oxford
- River Coln and its tributaries
- River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock
- River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon, and also the Letcombe Brook at Wantage, Grove and East Hanney
- River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to and including Islip River Thame and Chalgrove Brook
- River Thames and its small tributaries from Calcutt to Lechlade
- River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne
- River Thames and tributaries from Buscot Wick down to Kings Lock
- River Thames and tributaries in the Oxford area
- River Thames for the Abingdon area River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning
- River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley
- River Tove in Northamptonshire
- River Windrush from Bourton to Newbridge
- Sor Brook and The Bloxham Brook and their tributaries
- Upper River Great Ouse in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire

Oxfordshire County Council said: “Motorists are advised not to attempt to drive through floodwater as they run the risk of becoming stranded.
“Floodwater is not clean and not suitable for children to play in. There might be hidden hazards under the water such as manhole covers that have lifted.”
