A teenager who died when the car he was in hit a tree near Burford was officially identified today.
Henry Avery, 18, from Lechlade, Gloucestershire, died in hospital after the green Renault Clio he was in hit a tree on Thursday, as the vehicle travelled between Burford and Lechlade.
The accident at 11.50pm, on the A361 near the Cotswold Wildlife Park, happened shortly after a bend in the road at the Kencot and Holwell crossroads.
It took firefighters 30 minutes to free Mr Avery, who was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he died.
A 17-year old in the vehicle was also taken to hospital suffering chest and shoulder injuries, although they were not thought to be life-threatening. Anyone with information should call the roads policing unit on 08458 505505.
