TWO new Covid deaths have been recorded in Oxfordshire as cases went up across the county by more than 200 in a day.

According to Public Health England, as of 9am Friday, these were the number of new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours;
- Oxford - 48
- Oxfordshire - 212
- UK - 28,507
The total coronavirus cases since the pandemic started;
- Oxford - 4,053
- Oxfordshire - 12,601
- UK - 1,977,167
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
Separate NHS England figures also revealed a further two deaths at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), which runs the John Radcliffe, of patients who tested positive for coronavirus. The first took place on Tuesday and the second on Wednesday.
It brings the official death toll at the trust to 217 since the start of the pandemic.

The number of people being treated at OUH with Covid has also gone up in the latest available figures.
As of Tuesday, there were 83 patients who had tested positive for coronavirus – up from 67 the same time a week prior.
Last week's figures were also up from 43 as of December 1 and mean virus patients have almost doubled in two weeks at the trust. There are currently eight patients in serious enough condition to be on ventilation.
It comes as a further 489 people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test on Friday.
It takes the UK death toll to 66,541.
