POPULAR Winsford band The Luka State have announced their first virtual UK tour.
The tour will kick off on January 8 and culminate in a show on January 23 and sees them collaborate with some of the UK music industry’s finest concert promoters.
It comes off the back of the band signing to major record label Shelter Records/BMG and the tour leads into the release of their debut album, Fall In Fall Out, on January 29.
Speaking of how the virtual tour came about, frontman Conrad Ellis said: “We’ve had some really special promoters behind us in our career so far to get up to this point. We’re sick of sitting at home twiddling our thumbs so we thought it was about time we did something a bit different and special and gave everyone a show to remember. It’s going to be rough and raw, which is just what we all need to be honest. I just hope everyone enjoys it as much as we will performing it."
The four-piece are excited to bring their live show to their fans, albeit virtually. This virtual tour will see the band step up from their live-streamed launch show and collaborate with some exciting brands and partners with exciting surprises in store.
Despite not having the chance to play their latest releases live, they have amassed more than six million Spotify streams over lockdown while continuing to gain nearly half a million streams each month. They have also recently been added to Spotify’s ‘Best Rock Songs of 2020’ playlist. This is no mean feat for an independent band, so it’s no wonder that Shelter/BMG jumped at the chance to sign them.
Brought up on bands such as The Clash and The Jam, Conrad and bassist Sam Bell met at Winsford's New Images Youth Centre, and have been playing music together since they were just 12. After seeing drummer Jake Barnabas play at a festival and meeting guitarist Lewis Pusey, they knew they had completed the band.
