The were long queues to get into the city along the route yesterday which lasted until nearly midday.
Heavy traffic as people return to Oxford following the lifting of national restrictions last week has been compounded by temporary lights in place as SGN carry out gas works.
These are due to last until the end of Monday.
Oxfordshire County Council has advised people to allow extra time to get into the city if travelling via this route.
⚠️ If travelling into #OxofrdCity this morning via #Botley rd, please allow extra time for your journey, @SGNgas have temporary lights in place for emergency works. Expect long delays both inbound & outbound along this route #OxonTravel https://t.co/7feFA1SsGR

@OxfordCity @TheOxfordMail Is there any chance you can sort that absolute shambles on the Botley Road. You can not open all shops and encourage people to shop while having continuous road works. Sitting in traffic for over an hour as a key worker is soul destroying

Traffic is now severe within the city centre and is having a large impact on our network. This is not helped by temporary traffic lights on the Botley Road being out of order causing severe delays to services along this route. pic.twitter.com/bYC3FYFLkb
