POLICE have warned of the second DPD delivery scam this week.
Fraudsters have been sending emails out of the blue claiming to be from the post company.
They are using several subject lines to get people onto the email, including:
- 'We tried to deliver your parcel but you weren't in and there was no safe place to leave it'
- Reassing Parcel Delivery - Redelivery Confirmation - dpdwhoznt
- Your (DPD.co.uk) Parcel is being held at our local LondonDPD depot
Earlier this week police warned about a 'Royal Mail' post scam.
The email is realistic and comes from the senders:
- 'DPD GB - new information'
- 'Express DPD- shipping'
- 'DPD parcel delivery'
But there could be more.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Ahmed Mohammed warned in a Thames Valley Police alert online: “Please do not click on any links attached as this is a scam.”
“If you believe you have been a victim of online fraud, you can report it to the National Cyber Security Centre at report@phishing.gov.uk”
- If you receive an unexpected email check the sender’s email address – they can look genuine so look for minor details like an extra letter, number or full stop.
- Forward any emails you’re not quite sure about to the Suspicious Email Reporting Service (SERS): report@phishing.gov.uk
