The first Covid vaccines in Oxford will go ahead today, trust bosses have confirmed.
The Churchill Hospital in Headington, run by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH), is one of 50 hospital hubs chosen as part of the initial wave of vaccinations.
People aged 80 and older, care home workers and NHS workers who are at higher risk are at the front of the queue for the Pfizer jabs, which must be stored at -70C.
A 90-year-old grandmother became the first person in the world to receive Pfizer’s Covid-19 jab at a hospital in Coventry just after 6.30am.

Some hospital hubs will begins vaccinations later in the week but OUH's chief nursing officer Sam Foster tweeted last night the team were 'extremely proud' to be working with colleagues across the county as well as Berkshire and Buckinghamshire to deliver 'some of the 1st COVID vaccines in the world tomorrow'.
It was in reponse to a picture of herself and the trust's chief digital officer David Walliker busy working on organising rollout by OUH chief executive Dr Bruno Holthof.
He captioned it: "Getting ready for day 1 of Covid vaccinations."
