A MAN who played a part in a terrifying robbery at Chipping Norton's Co-op store in January 2006 has failed to persuade judges he was punished too severely.
Richard Kavanagh, 31, from Coventry, was sentenced to a term of indefinite imprisonment for public protection earlier this year after admitting conspiracy to rob.
Kavanagh, part of a gang that carried out 11 raids, monitored the store in the days before 14 members of staff were held captive for more than 90 minutes and threatened with a shotgun before £30,000 cash was stolen.
