ALTHOUGH roads into Oxford city centre were busy on the first morning after the second national lockdown, shops themselves were still quiet.
The city centre was sparsely populated as Oxfordshire moved into tier 2 restrictions following the culmination of the lockdown period.
Main routes into Oxford, including Botley Road, were packed with traffic this morning, however it was an altogether different scene in the city.
The hustle and bustle that might have been anticipated was not prevalent, and it seemed many shoppers were indeed still staying away.
Major shopping destinations including the Westgate, the Clarendon shopping centre, and The Covered Market remained as quiet as they have been in recent weeks.
