I am appalled to learn that Oxfordshire County Council may close and sell off Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
Cogges has all the resources to teach us and our children about how food grows and how to cook it.
It has green open spaces to run around in and is all wrapped up in beautiful historic buildings which enrich our cultural environment.
At a time when the Government is urging us to think about what we eat, educate our children to take more exercise and value our surroundings, Cogges should be viewed as a flagship for these concepts.
Instead, the county council has chosen the year we are meant to celebrate 1,000 years of Oxfordshire to announce the closure of one of its most fantastic museums.
What we need is to treasure long-term the cultural heritage Cogges embodies, not sell off the property for a short-term budget gain which, in the end, will be a loss to all of us for generations.
