People of different religions are coming together in Oxford for a celebration aimed at strengthening links between their communities.
The Celebration of Light and Faith, from 7pm on Saturday at Cheney School, in Gypsy Lane, Headington, aims to build on similarities between faiths. Members of the Hindu, Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths are expected to attend the event, organised by Oxford's Indian Union.
Union president Chinta Kallie said: "There are a lot of similarities between the different faiths, and we want to concentrate on those, rather than focusing on the differences."
Oxford's Lord Mayor John Tanner, and city police chief, Supt Brendan O'Dowda, will be among those attending.
