FIRE crews raced to a dramatic blaze close to woodland yesterday evening.
A crew from Charlbury Fire Station and both crews from Witney Fire Station attended the large fire.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said on arrival, crews found a ‘large well developed fire’.
High pressure hose reel jets with a foam and water mix were used to suppress the fire and the crews were able to extinguish the blaze and dampen it down with no damage to the trees.
In a post on Facebook, Witney Fire Station said: “Utilising our on board foam system we were able to suppress this fire very quickly and protect the environment.”
