A STASH of class A drugs were seized and seven people arrested in a series of raids across Blackbird Leys, police have revealed today.
Around 65 officers raided homes in Green Hill, Falcon Close, Field Avenue, Windrush Tower, Sandy Lane, Haldane Road and two in Ashmole Place.
Police seized a quantity of what is believed to be class A drugs which was been prepared for street deals.
Four ounces of cannabis, stolen goods and drug paraphernalia were also seized in the operation.
A 24-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth remain in custody today.
The others - men aged 45, 28, 40 and 29, and a 37-year-old woman - have all been bailed pending further investigations.
Three other women are due to be arrested by appointment.
The drug warrants were executed under warrants of the misuse of drugs act.
Police conducted a series of simultaneous raids in Green Hill, Falcon Close, Windrush Tower and Sandy Lane at around 6.20pm.
Three more homes - in Field Avenue and two in Ashmole Place - were raided shortly after 10pm.
An eighth home was raided in Haldane Road later in the evening.
Operation Falcon co-ordinator Pc Leigh Thompson said: "This was a major operation and investigations will be ongoing for some time to come.
"But whatever results come from this, we are sending a message out to the people of Blackbird Leys that we are listening to their concerns. They voted drugs as the number one policing priority in their area and we are doing all we can to tackle the problem."
