A DRIVER had a lucky escape after their car went off-road and crashed into a lamppost on one of Oxford's busiest roads.
Firefighters from Wheatley happened upon the scene of the accident, which had just occurred on the A40 Oxford ring road, yesterday morning while on their way to a training session.

All the passengers had already got out of the vehicle and the firefighters provided medical care while paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service arrived to take over.
A second fire crew from Slade Park station also raced to the scene to assist.
Horrifying photos show the silver vehicle crashed on the side of the A40 with the front end of the car completely smashed.
