I have been a regular visitor to Cogges Farm Museum for several years and have consistently been impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff and by the unique atmosphere of the farm.
Cogges Farm provides an invaluable educational experience for many local children, provides an area of green space in Witney and is one of the few places in which traditional farming methods can be experienced first hand.
I believe that to close this farm would mean the loss of a valuable service for local people and more importantly, the loss of a way of experiencing the past that will be impossible to regain in the future.
The amount of goodwill and support Cogges Farm receives from the local community and its integration into a number of community projects (for example the Children's Food Festival in Abingdon earlier in the year) is a testament to the value residents of Oxfordshire place on this facility.
Therefore I would urge the county council to reconsider its plans to close the project.
