FOOD, treats and alcohol from Oxford’s independent shops can now be delivered to your door thanks to a 'carbon neutral' delivery service.
Good Sixty, after its success in Bristol, Bath and London’s Borough Market, has launched in Oxford.
It is bringing small shops in the city together as one collective force, allowing people to shop for products from local businesses online and have them delivered in a sustainable way.

It is hoped the service will be a ‘lifeline’ for independent high street shops working hard to cope in the pandemic.
All products are wrapped in ‘zero-landfill’ packaging and delivered on an electric cargo bike or in an electric van.
David John Pies, Pershore Seafood, Happy Cakes, The Wonky Food Company, Gatineau and Jericho Coffee Traders are just some of the 18 Oxford-based retailers that people can shop from in a single payment via the Good Sixty website.
Good Sixty co-founder, Chris Edwards, said that Oxford had an appetite for sustainable shopping opportunities and that it was the right place for his start-up’s fourth location.
He said: “I’m amazed by the amount of great independent shops and small-scale producers in Oxford and I know many residents want to ‘shop local’ but simply don’t have the time to shop from each retailer separately or hunt out local, specialist producers.
“Good Sixty is the answer, allowing people to browse and buy from Oxford’s best indies in one place, at their convenience, in every sense of the word.

“The service we provide is also an essential tool for small food businesses in this digital age, helping the city’s retailers and producers share their passion, reach new customers and therefore be in a position to compete with the ‘Big Guys’.”
Good Sixty was founded in 2016 with a single purpose – to support small retailers and producers specialising in food.
It competes with large supermarkets and national vegetable box schemes as a sustainable online grocery solution.
Mr Edwards added: “Consumer demand for better, ethical, convenient food is at an all-time high and it has been proven time and again: shopping locally has a positive impact on our neighbourhoods, ploughing money back into the local economy and strengthening communities.”

Julia Atkinson, who runs bakery business Happy Cakes is one of the Oxford traders signing up to the scheme.
She said: “I’m very excited to be joining Good Sixty. They search out the best independent and artisan food traders so I’m very happy to be included in this. I love the fact they’ll be happiness through cake on my behalf around Oxford.”
Other businesses that have signed up so far are cocktail business Bearded Viking Drinks, Chadlington Brewery, Tap Social Movement, The Oxford Artisan Distillery and Team Tea.
For Covid safety reasons, Good Sixty is operating a contactless doorstep drop service for all our local deliveries. It is ensuring delivery riders are vigilant with self-hygiene and when collecting and delivering orders, wear fully-covered gloves at all times.
