It is unclear whether local figures have started to include positive tests from Oxford University’s own testing, which for the seven days to November 6 was 146 new cases.
Public Health England confirmed last week ‘a number of’ these tests have only been added to the national total and not local figures. This is understood to date back to September 13.
A further 376 people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test.
It takes the confirmed UK death toll to 51,304. Oxford’s total death toll is 40 and there have been 303 across Oxfordshire.
Globally, there have now been more than 52 million confirmed Covid cases.
