ELECTRICAL giant Comet has moved into bigger premises in Oxford creating 40 jobs.

The store has relocated to a larger unit in the Botley Road retail park where its old base had been in a move costing £1.1m.

It will open its doors to shoppers on December 15 in a bid to catch pre-Christmas trade.

Store manager Emma King said: "The team here is really looking forward to welcoming Oxford shoppers into our new store and are certain that they will be as excited as we are.

"We have all had intensive product training and will be on hand to offer ideas and guidance when choosing between different products."

Comet's other Oxford store is situated at Cowley's John Allen Centre.

The new store has arranged a special weekend event around the opening including entertainment from Bart Simpson, a DJ and face painters and an in store prize draw for £500 Comet vouchers.
