Of the 31, 28 people live in Oxford, one elsewhere in the county and two in Swindon.

Brookes will open as usual in line with the national guidelines for lockdown, which is planned to end on December 2.

As part of the lockdown, students have been told they cannot travel between term-time accommodation and their permanent homes and instead should only travel home at the end of term.

The latest figures come after shocking pictures emerged of hundreds of students completely ignoring social distancing rules at halls.

The video, which was sent to this paper, pans across five student blocks at the 'village' with a sea of people rammed on the courtyard.

Oxford Mail:

At the time the university admitted that the students were responsible for a 'small but growing' number of coronavirus cases in Oxford.
