ARGOS has announced it will shut its Oxford city centre store.
The New Inn Hall Street branch has not reopened since the first coronavirus lockdown and the retailer has now confirmed it will stay closed.
It comes just over a year after Argos shut its store in Botley Road Retail Park, which was the largest in the city.
A spokesperson revealed staff would be given the chance to move to other branches in the area.
She said: “Last year we announced a review of our estate, which included plans to close 60 to 70 standalone Argos stores and we have now updated colleagues on our plans to close the Oxford city centre store.

"Customers can continue to shop with us in nearby Sainsbury’s and Argos stores.
“Colleagues will have the opportunity to redeploy to other available roles in the area.
"We understand this will be an unsettling time for those affected and we are supporting them in any way we can.”
This latest closure means the only remaining Argos in Oxford is inside the Sainsbury's at Heyford Hill, while there are collection points in Cowley and Headington.
There is also an Argos in Kidlington.
In 2016, the supermarket giant took over Argos and said it could close 400 branches, although many of these have been relocated inside their stores, like at Heyford Hill.
