Residents are angry that their local MPs are not supporting the Climate and Ecological Emergency (CEE) Bill.

The CCE Bill offers a plan to tackle the UK’s fair share of emissions and halt global heating at 1.5°C.

In an attempt to change MPs', minds a group of local residents will be in Wallingford Market Place on Saturday, October, 31, between 10am and 11.30am, discussing the CEE Bill with passers-by.

The environmentally conscious residents will be writing to several Oxfordshire MPs to ask them why they are not supporting the Bill.

Amanda Griffin lives in Crowmarsh Gifford and runs Just Trading of Wallingford. She said: “I am so sad when I see how we continue to trash our beautiful planet and terrified about the future that our children and grand-children will see.

"As yet our Government are not even acting on the recommendations of their own committee on climate change. This CEE Bill is a chance to make a real difference.

"Writing to our MPs to ask them why they are not yet supporting this vital Bill is a simple action that we can all take.”
