AN ARMY of shops and cafes in a picturesque Oxfordshire village answered Marcus Rashford's call and offered free meals to pupils.
The footballer shared a list of businesses in Chinnor and Thame that have offered to feed children from disadvantaged families during half term.
All the places offering free school meals around Oxfordshire
These include:
- The Wheatsheaf Pub on Oakley Road, Chinnor
- White's Windmill Cafe on Mill Lane, Chinnor
- The Wee Bookshop & Cafe on Station Road, Chinnor
- Cottage bakery on Upper High Street, Thame
- The Chippy on Upper High Street, Thame
- Rumsey's Chocolaterie on Upper High Street, Thame
The Manchester United star, who was made an MBE earlier this year, demanded the Government extend the scheme to cover school holidays - but it refused and on Thursday last week Tory MPs voted down the extension of the scheme during the holiday.

In a statement on Twitter, the footballer said he was 'blown away' by the generosity of businesses stepping up to fill the voucher scheme.
He added: "This is the England I know."
