Vale of White Horse Under 13s bowed out of the Meeson Trophy after a 2-1 defeat at Bedford.

Four withdrawals left Vale with only 12 players, but with the wind at their backs, Sam Short twice made the Bedford keeper produce good saves.

The hosts raced away to open the scoring, but Vale equalised with a scrambled goal following a corner, James Stacey getting the final touch.

Vale defended superbly in the second half, with Tom Morley, Billy Cooper and Jack Smith outstanding, but Bedford scored the winner with ten minutes remaining.

Vale of White Horse Under 11s fell to a 3-1 defeat against Swindon in the County League.

They went a goal down after ten minutes, when Swindon scored at the second attempt from close range.

Vale went further behind on 26 minutes, when a corner went in off a Swindon attacker's backside as he went for a diving header!

Eleven minutes after the break, Swindon made it 3-0.

But Vale didn't give up, with Jack Alexander firing in a superb free-kick on 61 minutes.

Oxfordshire's ESFA Premier League Under 16 Inter County Trophy match against Hampshire has been rearranged for Wednesday, December 12 at Milton United FC (7.30).

The match, originally scheduled for Wantage Town last Tuesday, was postponed.

Ryan Vaughan's extra-time winner gave Peers (Littlemore) a 1-0 win at Aylestone (Hereford) in the ESFA Under 15 Schools' Cup fourth round.

Craig Pratley set up Vaughan to score and book Peers a place in the last 64.

John Mason (Abingdon) triumphed in the Vale of White Horse under 12 girls five-a-side competition at Wantage Leisure Centre.

They beat King Alfred's (Wantage) 2-1 in the final with goals from Amy McDonald and Becky Webster.

Goalkeeper and captain Charlie Hedderly had an outstanding tournament for the winners.
