POLICE today appealed for witnesses after an 80-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car near Bicester.
The elderly man was cycling along Ploughley Road in Ambrosden at about 3.50pm yesterday when he was involved in a collision with a grey Nissan Almera at the Merton Road junction.
Police said the cyclist was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with serious, but not life threatening, injuries to his head and hip.
Sgt Bryan Smith at Bicester Roads Policing said: "We are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the collision itself or the movements of the cyclist and the grey Nissan prior to the incident.
